Captain’s second party
This will be the second time for the 79-year-old Captain in his 52-year political journey to form his own political party. In 1992, he broke away from the Shiromani Akali Dal and formed the Shiromani Akali Dal (Panthak) Party. Although he could not succeed in this, he had to face defeat in the 1998 elections on two seats Patiala and Talwandi Sabo. After which he returned to the Congress party.
My supporters are getting threats: Capt.
Former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted that now resorting to threatening and harassing my supporters in Patiala and other places. I want to tell my opponents that they cannot beat me with such a low level political game. Such steps will neither win votes nor hearts of the people. He has said that he is not afraid of such acts.
Everyone has the right to make their own decisions. Capt. Saheb can form a party of his own free will but in doing so he will make a big mistake.- Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab.
