Who is the CM of Assam: The quarrel is so big that he had to come to Delhi?- In Assam, the BJP has managed to win for the second time. But even now, the screw is stuck when the name of the Chief Minister is fixed there. The tussle continues between the current Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was the Health Minister in the previous government, for the most important post of the state.
Sarbananda Sonowal, coming from the Kachari community, has played an important role in bringing tribal votes with the BJP. His image has also been clear in the last term.
At the same time, the steps of the North East Democratic Alliance’s Convenor and Himanta Biswa Sarma are also very big in the state, especially in urban areas and their desire to become Chief Minister is not hidden from anyone. During Coron, his tenure as Health Minister has also been good.
There was no reconciliation in the state, Delhi had to come
There was no reconciliation in Sonowal and Sarma camps in Assam and both the big leaders reached Delhi on the call of the party high command on Saturday. Amidst the epidemic, the arrival of the two leaders in Delhi was an indication of how much tussle continues in the Assam BJP. Although there is no public debate about the party, Sonowal and Sarma reached Delhi from the chartered plane simultaneously.
Here he had several rounds of talks with BJP President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah. This conversation lasted for 4 hours.
The declaration could not be done in Delhi as well, now the ball is in the court of BJP Legislature Party
It is generally seen that the state satraps, together with the BJP leadership, should not be able to stamp a decision. But no announcement was made even after the meeting of Sarma and Sonowal with Nadda and Shah on Saturday.
Then came the information that there will be a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party in the capital Dispur at 11 am on Sunday. A new Chief Minister will be announced in this.
Now the question arises whether the party leadership has decided on any one name or its decision has been left on the election of MLAs. Or the party leadership has already decided the name, the formality of the imposition of the Legislature Party is yet to be done.
Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and BJP General Secretary Arun Singh have been appointed as observers for this meeting. BL Santosh and Baijayant Jai Panda will also be present in the meeting.
Under these conditions, the election of the new Chief Minister in Assam has become very interesting. It will also be important to see if this election gives air to the buzz in BJP.
Let me tell you that the result of the election held on 126 seats of Assam came on 2 May. In this, the BJP-led coalition had won 75 seats, out of which 60 seats were won by the BJP itself.
