Union Minister Anurag Thakur has announced this. He said the premium would be paid from the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Emergency Situations Relief Fund (PM-CARES).

Anurad Thakur wrote in his tweet, “As part of the steps taken to take care of children affected by Covid, children up to 18 years will be given free health insurance of Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat and its premium will be paid by PM Cares.”
Ayushman Bharat, the flagship scheme of the government, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2018 with two pillars of Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY)
PM-CARES scheme for children was started by PM Modi on May 29, 2021. It aims to support children who have lost both their parents, a legal guardian or an adoptive parent or a surviving parent to the COVID-19 pandemic during the period beginning March.
10 lakh rupees will be available at the age of 23

Apart from this, at the age of 23, an assistance amount of Rs 10 lakh will also be given to these children.
