Himanta biswa sarma: he became the CM of Assam, NRC list will be verified again. – Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam on Monday. Himanta held a press conference after the eclipse. He said that he wants to get NRC verified again. Apart from this, he said that he invited the ULFA commander for talks.
Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 20 percent of the names of people from the border areas of Assam, who are included in the NRC, want to be verified. Apart from this, 10 percent of names will be re-verified in other areas.
‘I invite ULFA commander for peace talks’
Himanta said, ‘I urge ULFA Commander-in-Chief, Paresh Barua to come forward for peace talks. Both sides will have to come forward for peace talks, ” he said, adding that his aim is to get Assam included in the list of the top five states in the country in five years.
Himanta Biswa Sarma took the oath
Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of Assam on Monday. Governor Jagdish Mukhi administered him the oath of office and secrecy at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra here.
Traditional costumes and use of Assamese language
Sarma was wearing a traditional ‘pat silk’ dhoti and kurta and a Muga ‘gomosa’ was placed around his neck. He took the oath of office and secrecy in the Assamese language. He was sworn in by 14 more legislators amidst the strict protocol of Kovid-19.
BJP alliance gets 75 seats in Assam
The ruling coalition has got 75 seats in the 126-member assembly of Assam. BJP has got 60 seats while its coalition partners Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and United People’s Party Liberals (UPPL) have got nine and six seats respectively.
PM Modi congratulated
After Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated him. The PM has expressed confidence in him that he and his team of ministers will accelerate the state’s development journey and fulfil the aspirations of the people.
