CRPF jawan killed and another injured in encounter with Naxalites- Police said that a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Soldiers are killed and another Injured in an encounter with the Naxals in Chhattisgarh Friday. The Police official said that Gun Bullets were Shot in the forest near Chameda village of Dhamtri District when a joint team of CRPF 211 battalion and District  Force (DF) Came out on an Anti- Naxal operation. He said that the portal  Team, which had 10 CRPF and 10 Soldiers of DF, Started operations on April 3 in the area of khallari and Borai police Station.

The official said that on Friday morning, when the security forces were proceeding through Chameda, about 150 km from Raipur, a group of Naxal fired Bullets on them, causing a gunman to be injured. He said that the Naxal filed when the security forces responded.  “Head Constable Harish Chand Died, while Sudhir Kumar was Injured”, The officer said.

He said that the reinforcement has been taken to the spot and efforts are being Made to remove dead and injured personnel. This incident happened a day after Naxal attacked a group of security  Forces, killing Four BSF Personnel and injuring two other people in Kanker district of the state.

Chhattisgarh Maoist encounter, BSF Soldiers killed in Kanker District. Four youths of BSF were killed and two others injured during an encounter with the Maoists in Pakhanjur area of Kanker district of Chhattisgarh.

Senior police officials said that the encounter took place at around 11:45 in the morning when a joint team of the BSF 114 Battalion and the district police left Mohla camp for the supremacy of an area. BSF is a paramilitary force stationed in Kanker district.

DIG, Sundar Raj of Anti Naxal Operations said, “In the Mohla, the area was forced out of the area by the BSF camp for the team. An encounter took place in the forests around Mohla, in which four BSF soldiers were killed, and two were injured. Those injured were taken to Raipur for treatment. ”

According to sources, the dead were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector of the BSF Bipul Bohr, Constable Silam Ramkrishna of Assam, Constable Ishrar Khan of Jharkhand and Tumeshwar of Dongargaon in Chhattisgarh. Assistant Commandant of the BSF Gopu Kumar and Inspector Gopal Rang received injuries in the exchange of fire.

Police sources said that exchange of fire was the result of Maoist ambush, and said that there was a huge amount of fire exchanges from both sides. BSF sources said that they were also expected to be wounded or fatal to the Maoists but nobody was recovered. He admitted that initial investigations have shown that the Maoists had planned an ambush.

Both Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Governor Anandiben Patel condemned the deaths and expressed their condolences. Baghel said that the state government will not tolerate violence in the state, and said that the security forces were adequate to deal with the Maoists, and they would give proper answers. The encounter took place just a week before the general election – while the Bastar Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on April 11, elections will be held on April 18 in the Kanker Lok Sabha seat.
