Coronavirus New Cases: New cases of corona for the first time after 26 days are down by 3 lakhs- The second wave of Corona virus continues to wreak havoc in India. This is the first time during the second wave that a week has seen a drop in corona cases. During this period, new cases of corona have been reported in many parts of the country. However, it is a matter of concern that in this week also the number of deaths from corona has crossed 28,000, which is the highest in any part of the world. This is the second consecutive week when Corona deaths in India are the highest in the world.
Less than 3 lakh cases for the first time in 26 days
According to the figures of corona virus infection revealed on Sunday, this was the first time in 26 days after April 20 when less than 3 lakh new cases of corona were reported. On Sunday, 2,82,086 new cases of corona were reported. During the second wave of Corona, it has seen a sharp decline during the last week after a huge increase in new cases. If we compare the record of 4.14 lakh cases of Corona which came 9 days ago on 6 May, then the new cases of Corona which came out on Sunday have come down by about 30%.

However, there is no decrease in the graph of deaths from corona. On Sunday, the number of deaths in the country from Corona was recorded at 4,100. This was the fourth time this week that the daily death toll from Corona crossed 4,000. On Sunday, 974 people lost their lives in Corona, the second highest figure in Maharashtra. 4 other states also recorded the highest number of daily deaths from corona. 311 people in Tamil Nadu, 147 in Bengal, 70 in Himachal Pradesh and 32 people in Puducherry have died in the last 24 hours from Corona.
16% drop in new corona cases this week
In India, 24 million new cases of corona were registered this week, falling by 16 per cent as compared to 27.4 lakh new cases in the previous week. The number of cases of corona reported in this week from 10 to 16 May is the lowest in the past three weeks. Last week, we saw a peak (4.14 lakh) of Corona’s daily cases, which declined sharply this week.
Record deaths from Corona this week
This week, 28,334 people died due to corona infection in the country, on an average, 4,048 deaths were recorded daily. This is almost 4 per cent higher than last week when 27,243 deaths were recorded in the whole week. However, it was also the highest figure of weekly deaths due to corona in any country of the world. Earlier in the week, the most deaths from Corona were recorded in the US when 24,282 people died between January 11 and 17 this year. This figure is according to the Worldometer.
Allegations of difference in official and actual figures
This is the official figure of deaths from Corona. The ground data for deaths from Kovid-19 may also be higher as local media in many states have reported a huge difference between government figures and corona data collected after the funeral. To reduce the corona death graph, it is necessary that the COVID protocol is followed properly and patients arriving at the hospital get better treatment.
