Corona positive Azam Khan’s health deteriorates, shift in ICU when oxygen level falls- The former minister and senior SP leader Azam Khan admitted to Lucknow Medanta Hospital, has been shifted to the ICU due to deteriorating health. When their oxygen levels fall, doctors are requiring 10 litres of oxygen instead of four litres. The treatment is under the supervision of doctors of the Department of Critical Care Medicine, while son Abdullah is in good health.
Let us tell you that Corona-infected SP MP Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan, who are lodged in Sitapur Jail, were brought to the Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on Sunday under tight security. A team of health department and administrative officials were also sent to Lucknow along with him. Acting Superintendent of Sitapur Jail Omkar Pandey said that the oxygen level of Azam Khan had reached 90. In such a situation, he had some difficulty in breathing. He did not want to go to Lucknow. Azam’s insistence on not going to Lucknow continued for long in the jail premises, but he was explained citing health reasons. Then he agreed to leave. Abdullah Azam is also Corona positive, so he too has been brought to Medanta for better treatment.

Rampur MP Azam Khan and his son Abdullah have been lodged in Sitapur Jail since February 27, 2021. According to Acting Superintendent Omkar Pandey, on April 29, the antigen test of both father and son was done, in which the report of both came positive. This was followed by the RTPCR investigation on May 1. Father-son positives were also found in this. After the first aid, efforts were made to send them to the Kovid Hospital in Sitapur on the night of May 1, but they did not agree.
The hospital has reported that they are now being fed 10 litres of oxygen per minute. However, the health of his son Abdullah admitted to Medanta itself is said to be stable.
SP MP Azam Khan has been in jail since February 2020, including his son. Though his wife was also in jail, he was later granted bail. Azam Khan is accused of illegally occupying land in Rampur and forging fake certificates.
Azam Khan, a former minister of the Akhilesh government who was lodged in Sitapur District Prison in Uttar Pradesh, was found infected with the Coronavirus on 29 April. After this, it was decided to take him to KGMU in Lucknow for better treatment but Azam Khan flatly refused to go by road. However, Azam Khan agreed to go to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on Sunday (09 May) due to deteriorating health.
