In the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, chairman of the Delhi Wakf Board, Amanatullah Khan said in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that the decision to increase the salaries of the Imams from 10 thousand to 18 thousand has been decided. From February, they will start getting increased salaries.

Wakf Board Chairman said that at this time minimum wage has also increased to 14 thousand and there was a demand from the Imams for a long time to increase the salary. He said that he wanted to increase the salaries of Imams in a very long time, but the Wakf Board was dissolved for two years. He said that the Wakf Board in Delhi offers salaries to the imams of about 300 mosques and now the salary will be Rs 18000. The muezzin of these three hundred mosques will get 16,000 rupees.
The government will help the improvement of the Wakf Board
Apart from this, there are about 1500 mosques in Delhi where there is no direct control of the Wakf Board and there is no Committee of Wakf Board in these mosques. The Waqf Board has also decided that the imams of these 1500 mosques will now be given Rs.14000 as salary and MoAzzin will get Rs.12000. In the program, the Chief Minister said that the Delhi Government is with the decisions of the Wakf Board. The government will do everything possible to improve the Wakf Board.

Amanatullah Khan said that the first Waqf Board was run like private property. Now the Wakf Board is running a variety of programs to help Muslim society, the poor and the orphans. The Chief Minister said that illegal occupation should be removed from properties of Wakf Board and these properties should be used for the poor. Schools, hospitals will be built on these properties and the government will have to spend the cost of these constructions.
