Aligarh Hooch Tragedy: 28 killed, 6 arrested, many lost eyesight in Aligarh poisonous liquor case- Uttar Pradesh continues to have deaths from poisonous liquor. For the sixth time within a year, poisonous liquor has taken away people’s lives in the state. Aligarh has become the victim this time. The death toll due to drinking spurious liquor in four police station areas has now reached 28. So far six accused have been arrested in this case. Not only this, many people have lost their eyesight too. The DM has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. At the same time, five including District Excise Officer have been suspended.
Administration confirmed 22 deaths
Country liquor was purchased from government contracts in three different areas. The SSP of Aligarh has so far confirmed the deaths of 22 people. At the same time, the condition of more than one and a half dozen people is still in critical condition. Five people of Rait village have died along with Karsua, Andala, Havatpur, Fatehpur, Sujapur, Chherat village. At the same time, 15 people have been admitted to JN Medical College and District Hospital in a critical condition due to drinking alcohol.
Earlier, Aligarh Additional District Finance and Revenue Legislative Assembly Jaiswal said that 18 people (government figures) have died due to the consumption of alcohol in some villages of Police Station, Lodha, Khair and Jawan. The condition of 12 people is critical and they are being treated. He informed that under the Chief Minister Krishak Accident Welfare Scheme, financial assistance of 5-5 lakhs is being given to the deceased residents of the district from the administrative level.
Many lost eye light during treatment
The condition of many hospitalized people is critical. At the same time, many of those who are undergoing treatment have lost their eyesight. The district administration was informed of the deaths of several people from drinking poisonous liquor in village Karsua and village Andala, Nandpur Pala, Wright, Hetpur in Khair Kotwali area. The administration sent the sick people by ambulance to the district hospital.
On the other hand, after the incident, there was a lot of resentment among the villagers. The villagers protested in front of administrative and police officials. Meanwhile, it was learned that two drivers of the containers that had come to the IOC bottling plant outside the village were missing. The two were later found unconscious in their containers. Both of them were also sent to the district hospital immediately.
5 suspended including District Excise Officer
Additional Chief Secretary (Excise) Sanjay S. Bhusreddy suspended Aligarh District Excise Officer Dheeraj Sharma, Excise Inspector Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Chandraprakash Yadav, Principal Excise Reserve Officer Ashok Kumar and constable Ramraj Rana after the incident. Instructions have also been given for departmental action against all three.
DM Chandrabhushan Singh has handed over the magisterial inquiry in the case to the ADM administration. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered strict action in the case, ordering the imposition of NSA on the accused.
Administration seized 3 shops
The relatives of six people who lost their lives after consuming spurious liquor were cremated without informing the police. On getting information about this, ADG Zone, DIG, DM, SSP and Excise Officer reached the spot. It is being told that the poisonous liquor was purchased from indigenous liquor contracts of Karsua and Andala. Five liquor shops have been sealed, with all local liquor shops closed. At the same time, the liquor found from the possession of the victims has been sent for investigation. The police teams caught hold of three people including a liquor mafia and took them into custody for questioning. So far 6 people have been arrested in this connection.
