Has given full cooperation in investigation of abduction of Afghan ambassador’s daughter: Pakistan- Pakistan on Wednesday said it has extended full cooperation to an Afghan delegation visiting the country to investigate the abduction of the Afghan ambassador’s daughter and rejected Kabul’s allegations that the Islamabad case is not progressing.
Silsila Alikhil, 26, daughter of Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan Najibullah Alikhil, was kidnapped in Islamabad last month by unidentified men when she was travelling in a hired vehicle.
The kidnappers tortured her for several hours and later released her, leading to a diplomatic crisis in both countries.
The Foreign Office said in a statement that the Afghan delegation had recently visited Islamabad and were given detailed information, with the Afghan government alleging that Pakistan was not pursuing the matter.
