Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday made a major reshuffle in his cabinet and appointed Indian-origin Anita Anand as the country’s new Defense Minister.
Ms Anand succeeds Harjit Sajjan, Canada’s longtime Defense Minister. Mr Trudeau has also made several major changes to the cabinet as well.
Anita Anand is the second woman in Canadian history to become the Defense Minister. Canada before. Former Prime Minister Kim Campbell was also Defense Minister in the 1990s. who held the portfolio in 1993 for six months from January 4 to June 25.
