Surekha Sikri Passes Away: National Film Award winner Surekha Sikri is no more with us. At the age of 75, he said goodbye to the world. Surekha was ill for a long time, she died due to cardiac arrest. There is a wave of mourning in Bollywood and TV world due to the death of Surekha, who played the role of ‘Dadi’ in the famous serial ‘Balika Vadhu’ and the film ‘Badhaai Ho’. His manager has confirmed the sad news.
Surekha Sikri’s manager told that he (Surekha Sikri) breathed his last this morning itself. After the second brain stroke, she was very worried about her health. He first suffered a brain stroke in the year 2018, after which he had a paralysis attack.
After that she was fine but could not do much work. For the second time last year, he suffered a brain stroke in September 2020, after which his health had deteriorated significantly. He had also sought financial help for the treatment.
Surekha Sikri was a part of theatre, TV and films. She received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress 3 times. These films were Tamas (1988), Mammo (1995) and Badhaai Ho (2018).
At the 66th National Film Awards, actress Surekha Sikri was awarded the Best Supporting Actress award for her role of a grandmother in the film ‘Badhaai Ho’. When Surekha Sikri arrived in a wheelchair to receive the award, people stood up and applauded to pay respect to her. After receiving the award, Surekha had said that I am very happy with my heart and will share this happiness with friends and family.
Along with films, she has worked in TV shows like ‘Balika Vadhu’, ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’, ‘Saat Phere’, ‘Banegi Apni Baat’ and ‘CID’.
