Ansal brothers Sushil and Gopal imprisoned for seven years for tampering with evidence

A Delhi court has sentenced Ansal brothers Sushil and Gopal to seven years in jail after finding them guilty of tampering with evidence in the Uphaar cinema fire case. It was done. The Patiala House Court has also imposed a fine of ₹2.25 crore each on the two Ansal brothers. Both were convicted of tampering with evidence in the Uphaar fire case about a month ago. The sentence was announced today.

Earlier, the Ansal brothers were sentenced to two years in jail by the Supreme Court. He was later released on a fine of Rs 30 crore, which will be used to build a trauma center in the country’s capital. Har Swaroop Panwar and Dharamveer Malhotra, two other accused in the Uphaar fire incident, died during the trial itself. A fire broke out in the Uphaar theater during the screening of the war-focused film ‘Border’. There were no fire safety arrangements in the theatre. Due to this 59 people lost their lives due to suffocation while more than 100 people were injured due to stampede.

Due to the veteran Ansal brothers of the real estate sector, this case had attracted a lot of attention of the people. The youth killed in the fire had taken refuge in the court accusing the Ansal brothers of negligence in this matter.
