IND Vs ENG: Virat Brigade refuses to play Manchester Test- England gets walkover- The fifth test match between India and England has been canceled. This decision was taken due to the increasing cases of corona infection. On the other hand, the England and Wales Cricket Board suggested postponing the fifth Test match for two days. But BCCI did not agree with ECB’s proposal considering the IPL schedule. England was given a walkover over the Indian players’ refusal to play. However, no decision has been taken on the outcome of the series yet. Currently, India is leading 2-1 in the five-Test series.
The England Cricket Board confirmed the cancellation of the fifth test match, saying, “After ongoing talks with the BCCI, the ECB confirms that the fifth test match between India and England to be played at Old Trafford from today onwards has been canceled. Given, India is unable to field the team due to the high increase in the number of corona infection cases. Earlier, a meeting was going on between the BCCI officials in which the postponement and the number of days for which the Test match would be postponed were being discussed. After that, the decision was taken to cancel the fifth Test match.
Many people including Ravi Shastri are corona infected
Team India head coach Ravi Shastri is corona-infected. Apart from him, the team’s physio Nitin Patel, assistant physio Yogesh Parmar and bowling coach Bharat Arun are also Corona positive. Shastri came under the control of Corona during the Oval Test.
Corona investigation of all players was done
In view of the corona infection, RT-PCR examination of all the members of Team India was done in the past, in which the reports of all the players came negative. After this BCCI and ECB agreed to hold the fifth Test match on time. But later the Test match was declared canceled after talks between the two boards.

India leads 2-1 in the five-Test series. The first test match played between the two teams in Nottingham ended in a draw. Whereas at Lord’s, India won by 151 runs over England. After this, in Leeds, England retaliated and defeated Team India. Whereas, in the Oval Test, India defeated the English team by a huge margin of 157 runs.
