Tokyo Olympics: PV Sindhu enters semi-finals- one step away from Olympic medal- India’s star shuttler PV Sindhu has confirmed her place in the semi-finals in the Tokyo Olympics. Sindhu defeated Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 21-13, 22-20 in the women’s singles quarterfinals. With this, PV Sindhu has secured a place in the semi-finals.

PV Sindhu reaches semi-finals

Indian women’s badminton player PV Sindhu defeated Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the women’s singles category at the Tokyo Olympics to enter the semi-finals. Rio Olympic silver medalist Sindhu displayed her best performance to enter the semi-finals by defeating Yamaguchi 21-13, 22-20 in a 56-minute match.

Sindhu won the first game against Yamaguchi easily but in the second game she got a tough fight from Yamaguchi. At one point Yamaguchi had taken the lead and it looked like the match would go on till the third game. However, Sindhu made a comeback without delay and ended the match with consecutive points.

Let us inform that now PV Sindhu will face the winner of the second quarterfinal between Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand and Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei.
