‘No one died due to lack of oxygen in the second wave’- the central government said- The threat of corona is not over yet. Meanwhile, it has been said by the Central Government on Tuesday that no one has died due to lack of oxygen during the second wave of Covid-19. However, the central government has acknowledged that the demand for oxygen had increased significantly during the second wave of corona. In fact, Congress leader KC Venugopal had asked the government whether it was true that in the second wave of Covid-19, many corona patients died on the road and in the hospital because there was a shortage of oxygen? On this, the Union Minister of State for Health, Bharti Praveen Pawar, in a written reply to this question, said that ‘Health is a state subject. Guidelines were given to all the states and union territories to inform about the deaths during corona. No state or union territory report says that anyone died due to lack of oxygen.
Minister of State for Health Bharti Praveen Pawar further informed that during the first wave of the pandemic, the demand for this life-saving gas was 3095 MT which increased to around 9000 MT during the second wave. He was asked whether a large number of people died due to the non-availability of oxygen during the second wave. Pawar said that health is a state subject and states and union territories regularly inform the Center about the number of cases and deaths of Covid. He said that the Union Health Ministry has issued detailed guidelines to all the states and union territories for reporting deaths due to Covid.
He said, “Accordingly, all the states and union territories regularly inform the central government about the number of cases of Covid and the number of deaths due to it. However, no state or union territory has reported any loss of life due to lack of oxygen.
Apart from this, the government also told on Tuesday that two vaccine manufacturers in the country are testing anti-Covid vaccines for children and expressed hope that if these trials are successful, children will be vaccinated. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also assured that in view of the figures of first and second wave of coronavirus epidemic, there is no need to worry much about children. Nevertheless, the government is making full preparations in this matter.
Replying to the discussion on Covid-19 in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Mandaviya said that people are saying that arrangements should be made to save children from the third wave of Covid-19. He said that two Indian companies are working in this direction. Zydus Cadila has started testing about it. He told that Bharat Biotech Company has also started this trial. He said that he has only received this information informally about this. The Health Minister said that he is in touch with these companies. He expressed hope that the vaccine trials of these companies would be successful so that the vaccine could be available for all children in the country.
