New IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on IT rules – the law of the country is supreme-  on their arbitrary attitude on the very first day of office. Vaishnav has clearly said that the law of the country will be at the top. On the first day of taking charge, Vaishnav said that ‘the law of the land is supreme, Twitter should follow the rule’. Bureaucrat-turned-politician Ashwini Vaishnav took charge of the Ministry of IT, Electronics and Communications on Thursday. His remarks came after Twitter told the court that a grievance redressal officer would be posted in 8 weeks. Twitter also told the court on Thursday that it is in the process of setting up a liaison office in India in compliance with IT regulations. This office will be his permanent contact.

Who is Vaishnav?

This is Vaishnav’s first term as a Member of Parliament and he will be in charge of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Railways as a cabinet minister. I give that he gave me a great opportunity to serve the country. Telecom, IT and Railways, there is a lot of synergy between the three and I will work to ensure that their vision is fulfilled.

Vaishnav will replace Ravi Shankar Prasad, senior BJP leader in the Ministry of Electronics and IT and Ministry of Communications. It is worth noting that outgoing IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had targeted Twitter on this issue.
