Bharat Biotech asks for approval

According to the information, the Bharat Biotech company of Hyderabad has submitted an application to the World Health Organization (WHO) to approve the emergency use of its covaxin. This application has been given in the category of Emergency Use Listing (EUL) i.e. Immediate Hearing Issues. It will become the second vaccine in India after the approval of the cocaine. Which would have been recognized by the WHO.

The application will pass through three stages

According to the information, 3 stages have to go through for submission of applications in EUL category. These include the first pre-submission meeting. At the same time, the second step is to accept the dossier for review. The third and final step is to make a detailed assessment of the application. It is believed that the WHO meeting may be held in the last week of May or June on the application of Bharat Biotech.

Last week, while talking with associate channel WION, Bharat Biotech joint managing director Suchitra Ella said, ‘COVAXIN has proven to neutralize all these variants, including double mutants. It is a vaccine made of inactivated virus produced in cell culture or Vero cell platform. ‘

The company will produce 1 billion vaccines

He told that the company has 3 production units in 3 different states. It is planned to produce 1 billion vaccines through these units. Among them, 200-250 million will be made in Hyderabad unit, 500 million in Bangalore unit and about 200 million in Ankleshwar, Gujarat.

According to Suchitra Ella, the approval of emergency use of Covaxin from WHO will be of great benefit. After this approval, Indians who have got covacine will be eligible for the movement anywhere in the world. On the other hand, as far as the recognition of this vaccine from other countries is concerned, negotiations are going on. After the approval of the WHO, the hesitation of these countries will also end and they too will approve it.

These vaccines have been approved

Let us tell you that the WHO had earlier approved emergency use of the Kovishield vaccine made at Serum Institute in India on 15 February. Including Pfizer’s Comirnaty, Astrazeneca’s AZD1222, Janssen’s Ad26.COV2.S, Moderna’s mRNA-1273 and Sinopharm’s SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine.
