India’s statement has come on the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine. Breaking silence, New Delhi has appealed to both countries to maintain peace. India presented its views on this issue in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting. Permanent Representative of India TS Tirumurti said that we appeal to both the parties not to change the status quo unilaterally, both should maintain peace.

Opposed attack on Israel

India strongly condemned the attacks on Israeli residential areas from the Gaza Strip. TS Tirumurthy said that many people have died in the attacks on behalf of Gaza, including an Indian woman Soumya Santhosh. He further said, ‘We express our condolences to all those who lost their lives in this violence, including the Indian woman and hope that this bloody game will stop now’.

Tirumurthy said that India supports the legitimate demands of Palestine and is committed to resolving the case under the Two Nation-Theory. Advocating India at the meeting, TS Tirumurthy further said that we urge both sides to show extreme restraint, avoid stress-taking actions and avoid unilaterally changing the current status quo in East Jerusalem and its surroundings. .

This way the dispute can be resolved

Speaking at UNSC, Tirumurthy said that Israel’s Jerusalem is special to India, because millions of Indians live here. He also said that there should be direct and meaningful dialogue to resolve the dispute between Israel and Palestine. In the absence of this, tension is increasing in both the sides. If work is not done in this direction, then the situation will be worse in the coming time. He said that India supports every effort to create a conducive environment to restore dialogue between Israel and Palestine.
