Kolkata Knight Riders opened their account with a win in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the first match, KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs in a thrilling match. During this match, Harbhajan Singh bowled the first over of Sunrisers Hyderabad innings for KKR, but after that he did not get a chance to throw a single over. Captain Eoin Morgan has made his point about giving an over to Bhajji. Bhajji was released by Chennai Super Kings after which KKR bought him at the base price in this year’s auction.

KKR, however, bowled only one over to Harbhajan Singh, who is playing for him in the first season. But Morgan said, “Bhajji started well in the first over and later we could not bowl him, but used his experience to advise others.” Bhajji gave a total of eight runs in his first over, including a six from Wriddhiman Saha. In addition, Bhajji almost showed the way to the pavilion to David Warner on the fourth ball of his over, but Pat Cummins dropped the catch.

KKR got the same over from Bhajji, while using six bowlers. Andre Russell bowled three, while the famous Krishna, Shakib Al Hasan, Pat Cummins and Varun Chakraborty bowled four overs each of their quota. Talking about the match, KKR scored 187 runs for six wickets while batting first, in response Sunrisers Hyderabad could score 177 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Nitish Rana scored the highest score of 80 runs from KKR and was adjudged Man of the Match.
